Description We're the marine conservation charity, working to solve the climate crisis, protect marine wildlife and clean up our ocean. We take an all-encompassing approach to conservation by combining scientific research, advocacy, education, and community engagement to protect marine ecosystems and promote sustainable management of marine resources. Approach We want to establish a sustainable blue economy in the UK, where policy and spending is geared towards regenerative activities in the UK. In doing so, this will protect financial and economic value at risk linked to ocean health, while supporting sustainable investment opportunities & deliver social and economic benefits. We are evidence-based in our approach, looking to highlight opportunities and identify the priority areas for advancing blue finance. We are working with governments and industry to lay the enabling conditions for the sustainable blue economy, including the application of public funding to scale up and de-risk projects in order to increase their financial viability.
