ILS helps transfer (re)insurance risks to the capital markets with premiums supporting income. When considering sustainability in non-life ILS strategies Leadenhall focusses on the resilience it provides to societies (mainly residents and small commercial businesses) from climate, meteorological and other natural catastrophe events. Providing societies with this protection also helps close the insurance protection gap between economic and insured losses.
