UKSIF exists to bring together the UK’s sustainable finance and investment community and support
our members to expand, enhance and promote this key sector. Our work drives growth and new
opportunities for our members as global leaders in the sustainable finance industry.
UKSIF is not an accreditation organisation. We accept new members after due consideration and on
the basis that the applicant is acting in good faith and will subscribe to and act upon the Statement
of Principles below.
• Empowering the financial services industry to move further and faster to ensure a
sustainable and responsible financial system, capitalising a sustainable economy
• Support the UK and members in the transition to a sustainable future, as exemplified by Net Zero and UN Sustainable Development Goals
• Advancing the UK and our members in their leadership on sustainable and responsible finance and the integration of sustainability into all strategies and decision-making
By joining UKSIF, members subscribe to the following statement of principles:•
• Members agree to support the work of and to disseminate information about UKSIF and the
work of its members.
• Members commit to assist, either individually or with other UKSIF members, in improving
the public’s understanding of sustainable and responsible finance in supporting the theory
and practice of sustainable and responsible finance.
• Members strive to act with a high degree of personal integrity, maintaining honourable
relationships with colleagues, clients and all those who rely on the member’s professional
judgement and skills.
• Members agree to support and contribute to greater industry transparency and believe in its
role as a driver for a more fair, inclusive and sustainable financial system.
• Members seek continually to maintain and improve the knowledge, skills and competence
relevant to their profession and be diligent in the performance of their occupational duties.
• Members make an affirmative commitment to apply honest, thorough and diligent methods
of research and evaluation.
• Members should obey the laws and regulations relevant to their profession and should avoid
any conduct or activity that would cause unjust harm to others.
• Members should use their membership in a manner consistent with the UKSIF Statement of
Principles.
UKSIF has the right to engage with members on matters of concern to it, and reserves the right to
terminate membership with no reimbursement of fee if a member breaches or is thought to have
breached these principles or to have brought UKSIF’s reputation, or that of its members, into
disrepute.
