Policy Successes

UKSIF’s recent policy successes include:

• Supporting the policy development of the FCA’s SDR and the regime’s implementation in the market
• Influencing the revised UK Stewardship Code, including the ‘’stewardship’ definition’s supporting statement, and the Code guidance
• Contributions towards the UK government’s green finance and net-zero strategies over recent years
• Progress in the UK’s adoption of the International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) disclosure standards and wider work on the sustainability reporting landscape
• Promoting an updated interpretation of trustees’ fiduciary duty, with government now committing to statutory guidance to reflect systemic risks
• Helping influence the mandates of financial regulators to more clearly reflect climate change
• Contribution towards the UK’s regulatory framework on ESG ratings
• Advisory role on a number of UK government and regulatory working groups including: FCA’s Disclosures and Labels Advisory Group, Treasury’s Green Technical Advisory Group, the UK’s Transition Finance Council, FCA’s Vote Reporting Group, DWP’s Taskforce on Social Factors, and Treasury’s Transition Plan Taskforce.

Policy Committee

Our Policy Committee is our organisation’s main senior member forum advising on our public policy programme. Details of current Committee members can be found here. Elections are held in Q1 each year.

Analysis and Intelligence

We provide updates for our members on recent sustainability policy developments in the UK, reflecting our analysis on various initiatives and our ongoing engagement with policymakers.

Media profile

Eurosif

We engage indirectly with EU policymakers through our membership of Eurosif, which contributes our and members’ insights to policymakers in Brussels. This allows us to have a voice in various discussions on sustainable finance initiatives in the EU. We are a member of Eurosif’s Public Policy Group (PPG) and remain updated on EU policy developments on behalf of our members.

Global Sustainable Investment Alliance

We are the Secretariat currently for the Global Sustainable Investment Alliance, cooperating with SIFs across the world to move forward our shared agenda and deepen the impact and visibility of sustainable investment at the global level.
