About UKSIF
The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) is the membership organisation for those in financial services committed to promoting a more sustainable and resilient financial system that works for the benefit of society, the environment, and us all.
UKSIF represents a diverse range of financial services firms committed to these aims, and our 300+ members, managing over £19trn in assets under management (AUM), include investment managers, pension funds, banks, financial advisers, research providers, NGOs, among others. Our members are a significant part of the UK’s financial ecosystem and have a critical part to play in the change needed to progress the rapid decarbonisation of the economy and to address some of the pressing social issues facing society.
UKSIF and our members are hugely supportive of efforts to promote the sustainable finance agenda and work closely with policymakers and others to find new ways to overcome the barriers to the growth of sustainability in the UK.
Media Relations Manager role
UKSIF is seeking a Media Relations Manager to drive forward our dynamic media engagement work as part of our Public Affairs and Communications team. Working closely with UKSIF members, and both specialist sustainability and financial services publications and the mainstream print and broadcast media, you will support the drive to a more sustainable finance system and to achieving the UK’s net zero goals, ensuring that our calls for policy and regulatory change are heard by key stakeholders and ultimately delivered to help enact UKSIF’s vision for a more sustainable future.
You will lead a high-profile and effective media relations programme, working to promote the positive role of the UK’s financial services industry in advancing the country’s transition to net-zero and addressing wider challenges facing society. The Media Relations Manager will work closely with UKSIF’s Head of Public Affairs and Communications and Chief Executive, while interacting day-to-day with our member firms’ press teams, journalists, trade associations and the wider sustainable finance ecosystem (e.g. think tanks and academia).
This role is instrumental in enhancing the reputation and profile of UKSIF and our members. You will be an important liaison with UKSIF’s partners, ensuring a joined-up approach to messaging and communications activities.
Pages 8 and 9 of UKSIF’s 2024 Year in Review highlights some of UKSIF’s media work in 2024. The successful candidate will lead and build on these strong foundations to build an even stronger voice for UKSIF and our members.
This is an exciting full-time position, suited to a candidate with experience of media engagement, managing sensitive topics and communications challenges. You will have a passion for driving positive change on sustainability, climate change, and social issues. You will need to have excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound judgement, a flair for driving change, and a passion for achieving UKSIF’s mission, to flourish in our growing, dynamic, and highly motivated team.
This role is fixed until May 2026 as this is the funding that we currently have available. We anticipate that strong results from this programme will secure future funding and we fully intend that the position will ultimately become permanent as further resources are secured.
At UKSIF, we are supportive a team and value enthusiasm, work ethic and a can-do attitude. If this sounds like you, but you may not have extensive experience of every single requirement of the role, please consider applying, nonetheless.
