Description The Joseph Rowntree Charitable Trust is a Quaker trust which supports people who address the root causes of conflict and injustice. This support is provided, primarily, through funding applied for by applicants. Approach We believe that the most effective way to align our investments with our values is to use fund managers who take a responsible investment approach. The Trust seeks to avoid material investments in armaments, gambling, tobacco and new generation nuclear power. The Trust also engages with companies to encourage good practice on a range of environmental, social and governance issues. We often undertake such engagement in partnership with grantees or other foundations.
