The role

We are seeking a Membership Manager for a fixed term contract, to assist in maternity leave cover helping to manage member relations, continue to engage and grow our membership, and, working closely with the rest of the UKSIF team, ensure the organisation’s ongoing success.

The role is the pivotal interface between our membership and the UKSIF team. You will therefore build expertise quickly and establish a strong network that you can call on as and when required.

You will steward the UKSIF membership and act as the main point of contact as well as taking responsibility for the retention and growth of the membership with support from the UKSIF Management Team

As the face of UKSIF with members, the postholder is expected to build strong relationships with key contacts and expand our network across member organisations. The role involves ensuring members continue to renew by delivering high levels of member satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities through a pipeline of potential members and understanding the financial services sector’s evolving needs on sustainability.

This position requires a highly organised, motivated and productive self-starter, with a passion for UKSIF’s mission and membership, and a love of networking and engaging new people.

Key Responsibilities
• Act as the key steward of UKSIF’s membership and a trusted first point of contact for UKSIF’s membership, building and retaining member relationships, managing queries from members and interested parties
• Communicating regular updates to members, arranging and leading meetings with members to ensure an active and engaged membership
• Implementing UKSIF’s membership growth plan, including pipeline development, reaching out to potential prospects and securing new memberships
• Coordinating member invoicing and follow ups to ensure timely payment of membership fees
• Attendance at internal and external conferences, receptions and events to build contacts and stay abreast of industry trends and developments
• Manage UKSIF’s Membership Committee and Ambassador programme
• Providing quarterly Board reporting on membership progress
• Work with our CRM (HubSpot) on a day-to-day basis; updating member profiles and leveraging the database in communications
• Supporting UKSIF’s wider work, including communications, policy and events
• Clearly communicate member objectives with colleagues and ensure members are engaging with relevant elements of the UKSIF membership offering

Person Specification

The applicant must have:
• A passion for UKSIF’s mission, sustainability, climate change and social issues
• Knowledge of the financial services sector
• Excellent team working skills
• A positive ‘can do’ approach and desire to get the job done
• A self-starter and a team player, flexible and adaptable to the needs of others, but also able to work alone
• Confidence engaging with a variety of internal and external contacts.
• Fast and accurate approach, with attention to detail, excellent written and spoken communication skills, good judgement and the ability to manage a variety of tasks under pressure
• The ability to balance multiple priorities at once, solve problems creatively, and thrive in a busy office environment
• Strategic thinker with an eye for detail, ability to isolate information and ascertain opportunities to take forward strategic connections
• Demonstrated ability to grow accounts and build client relationships, ideally in a membership association context

Desirable:
• Experience working in the financial services sector
• Experience working within a small organisation
• Experience in membership engagement and membership organisations
• Some financial services or sustainability topic knowledge
• Experience of database/CRM packages and other relevant IT skills
