David Farrar

David works as a Senior Policy and International Programme Manager at Peers for the Planet, a cross-party House of Lords caucus putting the need for an urgent response to climate change and biodiversity loss at the top of the political agenda. Prior to this he worked for more than 7 years on private pensions topics in the Department for Work and Pensions, the majority of them on sustainable finance, including leading the 2018 ESG regulations, amendments to the eventual Pension Schemes Act 2021 and TCFD regulations for occupational schemes. David also led for DWP on founding the Occupational Pensions Stewardship Council and Voting Taskforce. Between DWP and Peers for the Planet, David undertook a short secondment with Nest, working on TCFD reporting and employer-related investment requirements.  David holds degrees from the University of Oxford and the University of Aberystwyth.
