Chair of the Board
We are seeking a values-driven and dynamic Non-Executive Director with experience at a senior level to chair our Board.
Time Commitment: c.20 days per annum

One of the UK’s original mission-driven businesses, Thrive Renewables helps people address the climate emergency by sharing ownership of a portfolio of 22 clean energy projects including onshore wind, hydro, battery storage, heat and solar. We have funded or built 31 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 140MW; assets under management in 2020 were £94 million. A small, passionate, dynamic team, based in Bristol, we have been actively crowdfunding and promoting sustainable energy since 1994. Our culture is inclusive and team-driven with a focus on delivering impact alongside financial performance. We are proud to be a certified B Corporation.
The Chair will join an established, effective board consisting of three executive directors and five non-executive directors which meets at least quarterly. We are seeking someone who shares our vision and values and has the gravitas, experience and dynamic approach needed to facilitate our ambitious growth plans.
The ideal candidate will have:
- NED experience, preferably in a Chair role
- Excellent leadership and strategic skills
- Experience on the board of high growth phase and/or public companies
- Evidence of chairing board meetings effectively and inclusively
- Track record of working effectively with investors and gaining their confidence
- Detailed knowledge of UK energy market and policy landscape
- Experience in capital raising
- Media, spokesperson and public speaking experience
