Financial Advisers
We provide information and support to advisers to talk to their clients about green and ethical investment. Advising on green and ethical options may help you attract new customers and get closer to your existing clients.
UKSIF also provides the secretariat for The Ethical Investment Association (EIA), a separate chapter of UKSIF for financial advisers. The EIA provides specific support for advisers through a website and quarterly training days. Find out more at www.ethicalinvestment.org.uk.
Key Resources
UKSIF has developed a Free Online Training Course for Financial Advisers who want to deepen their knowledge of green and ethical investing. Structured around a 5-step advice process, the course looks at green and ethical issues that may be of interest to clients, risk and performance aspects, and the range of approaches adopted by fund managers.
Experienced ethical investment IFAs often recommend that advisers use a fact find to capture their clients' views and concerns. The examples below may be helpful in building your own questions:
- Personal Fact Find [provided by Lee Coates]
- Personal Fact Find [compatible with Capita Financial Software]
See our Fast Facts section for information on green and ethical investment in the UK.
Want to learn more? National Ethical Investment Week provides training for advisers and opportunities to raise client awareness. The next NEIW will be held 7-13 November 2010. Sign up to receive e-mail updates.
