18th July, 08.30 to 16.15
Alcide de Gasperi Auditorium, Charlemagne Building, European Commission
At the end of 2016, the European Commission established a High-Level Expert Group on Sustainable Finance to help develop a comprehensive, overarching EU strategy on sustainable finance. After six months of intensive work, the Expert Group has summarized first results and policy options in its Interim Report which will be published on 10 July 2017.
This public hearing is an opportunity to discuss in detail the interim report and the HLEG’s work so far. There will be three panels covering the challenges and opportunities of sustainable finance, the EU’s investment needs and how to re-engineer the current financial regulation.
WHY - To allow stakeholders to provide feedback to the European Commission and the HLEG on barriers to and possible solutions for increasing sustainable finance, and ways to establish a more sustainable financial system.
WHO – Guest speakers include John Kay and Jens Spahn.
