Simon Howard joined UKSIF as Chief Executive in May 2013. Simon is a former Chief Investment Officer who has over twenty years of investment management experience.
During a City career that started in 1990, he has been Group Chief Investment Officer at Liverpool Victoria, Head of Investments at Friends Provident and Managing Director at 3i Asset Management. Prior to joining UKSIF, Simon was Head of Sustainable Financial Markets at the charity Forum for the Future.
Lisa joined UKSIF in 2007 as Member Services Executive. In 2010 Lisa was appointed to the role of Project Manager with key responsibility for National Ethical Investment Week as well as supporting other retail activities and selected projects. In 2012 Lisa became the Programme Director of UKSIF’s Market Programme which supports the growth of UK market demand for responsible investment and other financial services that advance sustainability through activities such as National Ethical Investment Week, the Ethical Investment Association and support for Pension Funds and Charity Investors. Lisa initially developed an interest in sustainable finance while studying Finance and Environmental Economics and completing her dissertation on Ethical Investment Funds in South Africa.
Caroline joined UKSIF in April 2012 as Programme Director and Head of Government Relations. Her responsibilities include leading on UKSIF’s public policy work and supporting the Leadership Programme. Before UKSIF, Caroline worked in the House of Commons, assisting senior parliamentarians with their policy briefings and research on a number of topics including financial services, climate change and financial regulation. Previous roles have also included working at a political consultancy on energy, transport and sustainable housing issues. She has a Master’s (with Distinction) in International Political Economy from the London School of Economics as well as a degree in economics from the University of Warwick.
Raj Singh joined UKSIF as Senior Communications Officer in June 2012 and has since become Programme Director. Prior to UKSIF, Raj worked as a Senior ESG Analyst and Marketing Officer at ECPI, a Milan-based ESG research and indices firm. Previous roles include working for a PR and IR consultancy for cleantech companies and financiers in London. He has a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Oxford.
Ian joined UKSIF in September 2012 as a Programme Officer on UKSIF’s Leadership Programme and public policy work, with responsibility for communications and UKSIF events. Before UKSIF, Ian worked as a consultant for Avenir Sustainability, researching and analysing UK and global sustainability policy and practice, and as a policy adviser and project manager at the UK Sustainable Development Commission (SDC). He was also a policy analyst at the Institute for European Environmental Policy, and has a degree in Natural Sciences from the University of Durham.
Pamela joined UKSIF in April 2010 as PA to Penny Shepherd. Prior to UKSIF, she spent over twenty years as a wine agent working with major supermarkets and managing relationships with French suppliers.
Susanna joined UKSIF in February 2013 as Office and Events Administrator. Before UKSIF Susanna worked as a Logistics Manager for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She has also previously worked in the NHS, and for the interfaith charity 3FF. She has a degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Sheffield.
Penny Shepherd was Chief Executive of the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) between 2005-2013.
Penny is also a lay member of the Professional Regulation Committee of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and was a member of the government’s Advisory Group for the Green Investment Bank. She was the first Chief Executive of the London Sustainability Exchange (2001-2005) and has been a member of the Mayor of London’s Sustainable Development Commission (2002-2007). She has over thirty years’ experience working with the finance sector, including over fifteen years on sustainability and corporate responsibility issues.
