  • Investment giants urge Osborne rethink on decarbonisation target – businessGreen

    Merrill Lynch, EY and Aviva are among a group of major investors urging George Osborne to introduce a 2030 target to decarbonise the UK’s power sector into legislation.

    Andrew Raingold, executive director of the Aldersgate Group, which co-ordinated the letter with the UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF), said the Chancellor’s failure to act over the last year has “further damaged business confidence”.
